Our Approach and Foundation
Ubah Academy provides training and consultations for organizations, medical schools, and health care facilities that seek to actively address disparities in reproductive health outcomes, better understand the impact on reproductive health that a history of interpersonal violence has, and integrate anti-racist healthcare practices into their work.
The foundation of our work is rooted in community collaboration. It is a practice that draws upon a method of root cause analysis, it incorporates an intersectional feminist model based in the tenants of reproductive justice, and addresses disparities and power from an ecological systems approach to understanding and addressing a problem. We are committed to the empowerment of individuals rather than a deficit approach.
